Laidley Florist & Tea Room

Laidley Florist has been operating in the heart of Laidley Township for over 30 years. The successful business has been operated by Rachel Hales since 2007, the third of a generation of florists in her family. Laidley Florist has forged a reputation for the highest quality floral work and displays. Many of the flowers and plants sold in the florist are locally grown in rich, fertile soil of the Lockyer Valley, using the latest in sustainable nursery practises, with Rachel also the propagator of her very own flower farm and nursery, located at the family farm at Blenheim.

Rachel has gone on to win many awards including Lockyer Valley Young Business Person of the Year, and the prestigious Mayor’s Award. Rachel is proud of her award-winning floral displays and her shop window displays have become an icon of Laidley, featuring in tourist advertisements and many council publications. It was Rachel’s dream from an early age to own her own business, and this dream is now a reality.

Tea Room

The Tearoom was established by Rachel in 2011, following a remodeling of the building as a result of the 2011 flood. Rachel continued to successfully operate as the proprietor of the Tea Room until early 2020 when family commitments caused her to lease out the historic Tea Room. Megan Hayes, a young local patisserie chef from Lake Clarendon subsequently took over the lease, bringing her famous ‘Amazing Grace Patisserie’ to the people of Laidley Township, featuring a delicious home-made selection of slices, cakes, biscuits and sandwiches with locally-made specialty soft drinks. The renowned Brisbane-based, ‘The Establishment’ coffee is also available with all the luxuries of true Italian-style barista craftmanship. Megan’s vision continues to go from strength to strength, and she continues to promote the highest level of customer satisfaction, hospitality and quality.
